Our Project without sound

We have lots of synergy now

Thursday April 30 we went out on the cabrillo campus and tripped to see if people would respond and help or ask if we were ok. This was a success.

The experiments that we actulaly did were dropping papers dowtown over spring break. John D looked at the difference between male and female treatment. It was a success. More people help females that males.

Natalie and Briana have not been absent all semester long. Leticia was absent on April 28 and May 14. John and Catrina were absent on April 7.

Dummy Smackdown

Expirement: Put a dummy in a back alley on a busy street, someone be on top of the dummy punching it in the face. See if anyone tries to help, or if diffusion of resposibility takes place.

Hand Shaking

Social Norm Expirement: Walking towards people and shaking their hands and introducing yourself, see if they will greet you back.

Where is my mommy?

Expirement: Leave a kid repeating "where is my mommy?" in a busy part of town. See if diffusion of responsibility takes place.

I refuse to believe its not butter

Chris has left the group, due to other classes. Our new group consists of Briana, Leticia, Natalie, Catrina and Jon. We are discussing social expirements. We were originally doing a social norm video, but now I think we are doing an expirement. We are looking into acting like we are drunk and getting into a car to see if people will try to stop us. We also would like to drop items and see if people would stop to help. We would like to see if individuals in a group would help vs. individuals by themselves.

What to accomplish Today/Questions

1. Rules:

-if you miss three meetings (Thursdays or any other time group has decided to meet) then you are dropped from group.

-coming to meetings unprepared twice gets a no show

-two absences without a contact gets a drop from group

-must contact at least two members when going to absent (one must be the next leader, so as to revise agenda)

-contact group members when any problem arises (you cant do your homework, you will not be at next meet, you don’t understand something, you plan on dropping class…)

-respect people ideas

2. All gave some ideas on what we would like the experiment to do. Next class we will elaborate on the theme or purpose. We need to come up with a goal/mission statement to help us understand purpose.
